Directed by Indra Kumar, the film is a laugh riot। The film has Sanjay Dutt as the central protagonist and the senior most amongst a bunch of other mad-mad actors!
This movie does well by coming up with a comedy which is pleasant departure from the now often dished out below the belt comedies. A good watch for the family. It really proves how a clean entertainer can be made.
Inspired by a series of Hollywood as well as Bollywood flicks (Rat Race/Its a Mad Mad World/Gopichand Jasoos), this movie has also been inspired by the age old jokes. Although, the placement of the jokes has been done in such a way that despite knowing what is to come next, you just cant stop being in splits and makes your watch worthwhile.
Though there is no proper story line- in fact -the story has nothing unusual, nor a good music but when it comes to performance, you will simply love the characters! Javed Jaffrey is simply hilarious with his very innocent character who is oblivious of the fact that he is possibly the biggest Idiot! Trust me there wouldn't be a minute you would think about anything else than the heaps of laughter you have poured. All the actors did their part extremely well, obviously expected of the main characters, but it's the other characters too, as in that of the Pilot played by Manoj Pahwa, or the Dacoit - Sanjay Mishra, or better still the presence of Vijay Raaj as the Air Traffic Controller who tries to give directions to a plane - is maddening and takes the film to another level. All five are thrown into hilarious life threatening situations that has the audience in side splitting laughter and guessing.
However, the film could have been tighter. Besides, the story doesn't run too deep. It is never explained how the four good-for-nothing blokes become friends in the first place.
It's sheer masti and DHAMAAL.

Despite the minor flaws, Dhamaal is similar to David Dhawan's brand of comedies: Fully dhamaal!
